Cultural diversity and it's adoption between different groups is possibly one of barriers which puts people left or right.
While everyone is right in their own purview, flexibility is what I believe could bind us, lead to a stronger human bond, beyond right/wrong perceptions.
Relatable: Went to the sacred town Tirupati (IN) a few years back. Was asked (by local group who arranged the trip) to move around the streets in just dhoti covering here and there (after the darshanas). While majority (locals) were comfortably roaming around, I could not get comfortable even after being told over and again by my friend, this is the culture here, it's normal.
Normality lies in the cultural set you belong to. Hence, being flexible would not only help others appreciate/understand one's culture but also create a respect for the same.
